In Earth and Cosmos, our students have been entering film auteur mode, where they have been exploring screenplays as a text type to write their own space themed screenplays using Celtx screenplay writing software.
Then working in groups, the EaC students have produced their screenplays into short films and are in the process of editing them to turn them into a final product for assessment. This is a wonderful opportunity for our Earth and Cosmos students to further develop their creative and critical thinking capabilities.
Students have also been working on their maths folio – Mapping the Universe which involves creating a work of art in DESMOS or GeoGebra by reinterpreting an Australian or First Nations star constellation using the equations or polynomials to explain how these can be used to model complex shapes.
