The Department for Education is building 5 new technical colleges across South Australia, including one at the Tonsley Innovation Precinct, run in conjunction with our school.
Tonsley Technical College will support students in years 10 to 12 to complete their SACE while undertaking vocational education and training (VET) in specialist state-of-the-art facilities.
The new technical college will complement the suite of learning programs and pathways already available at ASMS, providing alternative training and education opportunities while in school. It aims to be one of the ways we help students get a head start in the career of their choosing by developing the technical and employability skills most needed by industries.
The technical college will provide industry training programs including:
- Advanced manufacturing and engineering
- Automotive and energy
- Building and construction
Tonsley Technical College is partnering with group training organisations, the Motor Trade Association (MTA), Master Builders Association (MBA) and Australian submarine company ASC to deliver industry training programs. More employer and RTO partners to be announced in the future.
Tonsley Technical College is set to open in 2026.
