ASMS got a personal tour of the building and were amazed at the facilities. Students had lots of burning questions about pathways such as placement, Honours, Masters and PhD programs, as well as queries about specific medical fields research. Students also had the chance to network with industries and got some inspiration for their Research Projects which was lovely.

ASMS Multicultural Day Charity Donation
The student committee for Multicultural Day (held last term) have used their agency and approached the ASMS Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) group and together have decided on donating $400 from funds raised on the day to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation. The fundraising efforts from the ASMS community have gifted over 40 culturally relevant books to children and families in remote communities through the Book Supply program, all because of the generosity of the ASMS community! The ILF currently have over 52% Indigenous authors and/or illustrators in their book packs that range in age groups from babies through to young adults as well as books that families can all read together. The desire for books like this is so strong and ever growing because it allows kids and families to see themselves and their cultures reflected in the stories, helping to build a sense of connection, belonging and pride. Thank you to all of the students and families that made this day possible. Thank you to Debbie Smith for organising all of the admin for the charity donation.
