In Week 4, we will be hosting a day for the Flinders Assessment Centre. Flinders has made some changes to their processes and this means that there is now a hard cap on the number of students who will be able to undergo this assessment process.
We have been lucky enough to get a whole assessment day for the ASMS due to our partnership with Flinders and this means we can have up to 48 students – it also means that the timeline for the process is tight! Priority will go to students who are genuinely interested in studying at Flinders, and we are now inviting you to express interest. The two paragraphs below are the information from Flinders about the program.
What is the Assessment Centre program?
Assessment Centre is an alternative admissions pathway to the ATAR that utilises a series of challenges and selection activities, developed in consultation with academic staff of the university, to evaluate a student’s ability to succeed at university. Assessment Centre activities are fun and interactive to help students relax and benefit fully from the Assessment Centre methodology.
Who can participate?
The program is aimed at Year 11 students, with the potential to reduce stresses and anxieties going into Year 12, knowing they have already secured a conditional offer to university. As a Flinders only pathway, they should have a genuine interest in applying to study at Flinders. Students that may benefit most from participating in the program are those which have aspirations to complete further study at university, but may face barriers in achieving this goal (e.g. graduate without an ATAR/low ATAR, have faced disruptions in school which has impacted their studies).
Attached is the list of courses from Flinders which are eligible for assessment centre offers.
If you wish to participate, please fill out the form linked here by Sunday 14 May.
