In recent weeks, our Year 10 and 11 cohorts have experienced some exciting and distinctly different opportunities in Engineering a Monster! They went on excursions or had incursions here at the school where they learned about:
- Genetic Engineering- construct Phylogenetic trees using morphology applied to DNA sequences
- Praetorian Aeronautics- experience in engineering for the Defence Force and working on the world’s first flying race car
- Adelaide Robotics Academy- Ai / Robotics workshop and/or Drones workshop
- RedArc Electronics & BeSpoke Engineering- tours of all things electronic (4WD related and mechanical engineering (radial engine related)
- SAGE Automation & BAE SYSTEMS- insights on past and current Engineering projects
- UniSA Space Club – Rocket building workshop and tour of engineering facilities & career exploration
- Game Design Institute- facilities tour and workshop on how to design a video game
It was wonderful to see so many students interested and engaged with all of these engineering-based excursions/incursions. We hope to see our Year 10 and 11s inspired to begin their own project creations soon!
