Communication Systems recently switched their teacher to undertake the completion of this Central Study. The students who commenced Biotasium undertook an initial dive into organic chemistry before moving on to investigate neuromuscular signalling. In groups they designed and are conducting experiments that enabled them to measure either nerve impulses through muscles using “spiker” sensors or reaction times. Their results are now being analysed as part of as Scientific Studies Investigation.
The other half of students undertook a deep dive into Shakespeare’s Macbeth, analysing how deep and eternal themes are conveyed to an audience. They are also exploring ways in which they can concisely and articulately convey their ideas in a formal essay.
As its name suggests Communication Systems explores the myriad of ways in which communication occurs from the electro chemical processes within the body to the way in which the human experience is conveyed via drama and theatre.
