NAIDOC Week is a chance for all Australians to recognise and celebrate First Nations culture, history, and achievements.
The week at the ASMS began with a special assembly, where our cohort discussed the origins of NAIDOC week and how it has evolved over the last century. Then our students spent time in their Learning Studies Group, learning conversational Kaurna language through videos and games such as ‘Warradle’ which is Kaurna Wordle, and ‘Kudla’ which is Kaurna Solitaire.
Throughout the week, our cohort continued to celebrate NAIDOC week through music, basket weaving, art, and engaging with resources that celebrate indigenous identity and culture.
