Dee is a very active member of our school community and wider community, having also been a part of the SA SRC last year. We are very proud to announce that Dee was personally invited to attend the 2025 Australian Secondary Principals’ Association National Education Summit in Canberra on Monday 24th March – Tuesday 25th March.
Dee shared an overview of her time in Canberra.
“It was such a great experience where I got to meet and network with principals, youth, and those working in the areas of education, youth wellbeing, and systemic advocacy from all across Australia, as well as politicians such as Penny Allman-Payne, who is the Greens senator for Queensland.
Martin Westwell, the Chief Executive for Dept of Education SA and Jason Clare, the Minister for Education of Australia were both there and spoke on topics regarding the improvement of national curriculum and how we can evolve to best assist all needs of students and the ever changing use of technology and resources.
I spoke on a panel as a Youth Delegate Representative, sharing my experience in working on the reconstruction of the curriculum around menstruation with the Commissioner for Children and Young People of SA and education as a whole.”
Dee had the chance to respond to questions such as “What does the purpose of education mean to you?” and she also explained her experience with working on period justice in SA within the curriculum.
Congratulations to Dee.
