For Order from Chaos, students are currently conducting their mathematics investigation looking at patterns that occur in ordered trends such as Fractals through arithmetic and geometric sequences and series. As part of their investigation, students are exploring how these patterns occur in the nature world for example, blood vessels, river deltas, tree roots and crystal growth.
This investigation concludes Module 2 – Perspectives and Patterns. Following Field trip week, in week 4, students will move into our final module –‘Chaos, made to order’ where we will be imposing ‘order’ on datasets through the use of matrices (Year 11) and visualisation of data in dynamic ways (Year 10).
