Parent Information Night Video – What Does Learning Look Like?

Dear ASMS Families,

Earlier in Term 2 there was a parent night titled: “What does learning look like?”. Unfortunately, the sound quality of the recording is not great and at times it is hard to hear. However, please feel welcome to use the link to see the video on YouTube here.

The resources from the evening regarding self-regulation were sent out in the newsletter; they are repeated below:

Self regulation is essential for teens’ development and helps to build a foundation for success in adulthood. The Department of Education’s Self Regulation Service has developed an online Parent and Carer resource on regulation which can be found here. Google Chrome is the recommended browser to use the resource.

This online resource:

• Is targeted at a wide age range as self regulation evolves at all stages of development

• will help you to understand regulation

• will give examples of how you can respond to your child’s big feelings

• may take up to 1 hour to complete

• does not need to be done all at once.

If you have any questions relating to this information or any other ways that the school can support your child please do not hesitate to contact Frank Morris, our Youth Worker.
