Principal’s Message

Term Two has had a great start with students settling into their learning and embracing the opportunities that being at the ASMS affords them. Please remember to regularly check the Portal to see the range of additional enrichment opportunities students can take part in.

Drop Off Points: We kindly ask that parents use the designated Link Road drop-off point when bringing students to school. The safety of our students is of utmost importance, and using the correct drop-off point helps us to ensure a smooth and safe arrival and departure process.

In Week 8 of Term 2 (19-23 June) Central Studies students will be participating in Curiosity in the Community (CIC) Week. There are no formal lessons for Years 10 & 11 and all students are expected to take part in CIC Week. Year 12s have normal lessons this week. Students will apply their STEM knowledge and skills to address real-world problems and promote positive change. By engaging in impactful service activities, students can build relationships with community members, develop empathy and social consciousness, and gain valuable experience. During this week students have chosen to be a part of one activity for the week so please note there may be excursion forms sent home in the coming weeks.

Congratulations to ASMS graduate Youssef Bannouna who has been granted a 2023 University of Adelaide Principal’s Scholarship showing academic merit, and a significant contribution to their school and to the wider community. The scholarship provides an allowance of $5,000 to assist with education/living costs for their first year of the student’s study at the University of Adelaide. Youssef is studying Bachelor of Science (Space Science and Astrophysics).

Thank you for your continued support and cooperation and I hope you enjoy the myriad of articles our staff have collated.

Kylie Eggers,

Principal
