The Personalised Interdisciplinary Program (PiP) is a new offering this year that is designed for students who want to have high levels of agency and personalisation in their exploration of Stage 2 subjects. PiP may be used to link learning across multiple Stage 2 subjects in an interdisciplinary way or used to explore one subject through a specific lens related to student passions and pathways.
A group of students in PiP are exploring Biology through the different lenses, including forensic science. As part of this students explored cells under the microscope, contrasting animal and plant cells, experimenting with the effect of different stains on visibility of cell features, and how this might connect to forensic investigations. Next up, designing an investigation into the effect of radiation on cells.
