“Hello to the ASMS community! My name is Jordy. I am in the final year of my Bachelor of teaching/Bachelor of Science (Biology & Psychology). I am very privileged to be able to do both of my placements at the ASMS this year. The ASMS is a truly exceptional school, and I am thoroughly enjoying getting to know the students and learning from a wide range of excellent teachers. After over 20 years working in the building industry, I made the move to education being motivated by an insatiable curiosity for learning and a genuine desire to see all students find their unique pathway to success.”
“Hello ASMS community! I’m Beth, a pre-service teacher in my final year of study at Flinders University. For me, pursuing a career as a secondary science teacher is a result of combining my passion for working closely with people, and my curiosity in mathematics and the sciences. I feel incredibly fortunate to have the chance to complete my final year teaching practicum at ASMS. The warm welcome and the collaborative and innovative environment here have already provided me with invaluable opportunities for personal and professional growth, and I am looking forward to continue in this growth over the next term.”
“Hello to the staff, families, and friends in the ASMS community. My name is Daniel and I am a Pre-Service Teacher who will be teaching with Amy Snell-Wakefield (Body in Question – Nutrition) and Alix Verdon (Stage 2 Physics) for the first 6 weeks of Term 2. I have recently completed a Bachelor of Science (Majoring in Chemistry and Physics, Minoring in Mathematics) and an Honours in Biomedical Research and UniSA, and am currently in my final year of a Masters of Secondary Teaching. I am excited about bringing my knowledge and passion for learning science to this school and taking this incredible opportunity to develop unique and interesting teaching practices and pedagogies that I can take into my career. Feel free to say hi, have a chat, and ask any questions if you see me around school.”
