Last week Kay and Year 12 International student Rex attended the International Education Year 12 dinner, celebrating all graduating international students.
Held at Adelaide High School, Rex was presented with the International Student Leader Award for his passion for learning which has been evident in every project, task and discussion, where his curiosity and determination have shone brightly.
Rex has embraced challenges with a positive attitude, while encouraging his peers to do the same. Whether tackling complex equations or exploring scientific concepts, Rex’s perseverance has led him to excel academically. Rex approaches each day with humour and humility, reminding us that it’s okay to be imperfect.
His ability to connect with others, share a laugh, and lift spirits has fostered a sense of community within our school, and especially with our younger international students. They look up to Rex and his easy nature, but also see his steely determination to be successful, and want to be like him.
As we close this chapter on Rex’s time at the Australian Science and Mathematics School and all look forward to new adventures, we will carry Rex’s spirit with us—a testament to hard work, resilience, and the beauty of growth. Here’s to you, Rex, your impact and influence on our lives and the bright future you have ahead!
We wish Rex all the best in his future endeavours and will be proud to call him one of our favourite ASMS International Student Alumni in a few short weeks.
