Principal’s Message

Term 3 was a busy term. We packed a lot into our program and had lots of fun again this year. Timed at the mid-point in Semester 2, our recent Learning Conversations are an important time for students to reflect on their achievements and celebrate as well as adjust learning goals in response to progress they have made. In preparation, students work with their LSG teacher by looking at evidence of their learning growth and discussing strategies to achieve their goals. Parents are able to hear the detail about their child’s learning experiences, in particular their challenges, successes and ways they have tried to improve. LSG teachers take note of these discussions and continue to work with students in guiding and supporting. A key priority for the ASMS is to build our students skills to direct and regulate their learning, so Learning Conversations are one way in which we address this. It was fabulous to be able to talk with so many parents over the two days set aside for the Learning Conversations and your participation demonstrates the importance you place on knowing how your child is growing and progressing. This enables us to provide the best possible support for your child to be successful.

As Term 3 draws to an end. I wish you all a restful two week break and look forward to seeing you all back on 11 October 2021, for what will be my final term as Principal at the ASMS.
