Term 4 was a quiet one for senior sport with junior school carnivals occurring throughout the state. However, the ASMS took part in the VSA Schools Beach Volleyball Festival at Glenelg Beach on Thursday Week 4.
The weather was perfect, and our energetic team defeated teams from two other schools, including a comeback 21-20 tiebreaker win to go top of their pool.
The team went down in the semi-finals, finishing a commendable 3rd in their division, but not before taking advantage of the picturesque conditions!
After a great year of staff v students sport, Term 4 saw the staff emerge victorious in Ultimate Frisbee and ending the Year 12’s time with a tie in Touch Rugby. The staff win the series with a 3-2 lead, with 2 ties throughout the season. (Whilst some of the staff teams were made up of student players, we will ignore this and press on with the other narrative, teachers rule!)
Thank you for another wonderful year of sport, and it’s been a pleasure being in charge of the sport program for the last 3 years. I wish the incumbent coordinator and student sport at ASMS all the very best for the future.
