Cell Theory in Biodiversity

The students of Biodiversity are exploring the topic of genetics and have begun by focusing on cells, the building blocks of all organisms.

They have been making their way through the topics of cell theory, reproduction, mitosis, and meiosis which resulted in the students making their own 3D animal and plant cell models.

Our Year 10 & 11 students have also learned how to use a microscope so that they could prepare a wet mount slide of onion cells to observe and identify the stages of cell division, which was then captured on camera with some pretty spectacular results!
