The Australian Science and Mathematics School (ASMS) in partnership with SA Water and Department for Education has recently revegetated an original patch of grey box woodland, the Dr Ken Elford Memorial Garden, which was saved from development many years ago.
They have also been working with local Indigenous artist Elizabeth Close, on a student and artist developed mural on a public walkway that can be seen from the inside the ASMS.
This project has focused our students’ understanding of the cultural significance of the region they live in and in turn, the Kaurna people, and has been possible due to a generous partnership with SA Water and ASMS and Department for Education funds.
A special thank you to artist, Elizabeth Close, for her incredible work on our Reconciliation Mural as well as our staff and students who provided support during this project. Also, a big thank you to our other partners SA Water, and Flinders University Grounds Staff for their ongoing support and advice.
