Earlier this term, our students Aden and Luca represented the ASMS in Brisbane at the Queensland Academy for Science, Mathematics & Technology for National Science Week 2024. Here is what they had to say about their engaging learning experience.
“Over Week 4 we were privileged to travel to the QASMT where we were a part of a visiting cohort made up of students from Darwin High School and John Monash Science School. Over the week we had the opportunity to sightsee in Brisbane, participate in science activities and make lots of learning connections.
The focal point of the science fair was the presentation night, where each of the schools presented a mini research project. This was a very eye-opening experience as all the schools presented about very different things. Our presentation was on the archaeological lab method, discussing what we had learned through our work experience program with Flinders University.
We also opportunity to explore Brisbane where we walked around the CBD, visiting tourist destinations such as Queen Street Mall, The Queensland Museum and the Gallery of Modern Art.”
