It’s time to celebrate National Science Week!
This year’s theme is ‘Glass: more than meets the eye’, which also ties in with United Nations International Year of Glass. Glass is sustainable, extremely versatile and is used heavily in our daily lives as well as in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and maths.
This morning our senior chemistry students were in the lab conducting an experimental determination of the energy in different alcohols using a variety of glassware including measuring cylinders, spirit burners, stirring rods and beakers!
