Perspectives & Patterns in Order from Chaos

Our students have been in their ‘element’ during Order from Chaos, where they have been studying the topic of Perspectives and Patterns.

This unit combines mathematics and chemistry to explore the patterns found in the natural world. Each class headed out into the fresh air for some outdoor demonstrations to enhance their learning.

Outside they were able to see various reactions of elements such as sodium (Na), potassium (K), magnesium (Mg), and calcium (Ca) with water, with some pretty cool results!

At the end of this unit, our OfC students will be able to identify and understand the patterns of reactive properties within groups of the periodic table and recognise and explain patterns in simple chemical reactions.
