The first of the annual staff vs students’ sports matches commenced on Friday in the Flinders University Sturt Gymnasium!
The staff were defending their title as long-standing champions while the students were hoping to knock them off the winner’s podium for the first time in two years.
The students have been gearing up for this bitter battle all semester long, as the Year 12s have a fierce determination to get a taste of hard-earned victory before they graduate.
European Handball was up first, and the game ended in a thrilling draw. Whilst time had just expired, the last play was allowed to continue until the final whistle, with the students awarded a controversial equaliser to end the game 3-3.
