On behalf of everyone at the ASMS, we want to congratulate our students Bolek and Nicole who are both recipients of Student Citizenship Awards presented by the South Australian Branch of the Order of Australia Association.
These awards honour students whose citizenship contributions inspire the community. Nicole and Bolek both exemplify the values of leadership, compassion, and dedication which provides enrichment to their communities.
Bolek, through his involvement with his local Surf Life Saving Club, has made a significant impact. As a coach and mentor to young surf lifesavers, he not only teaches vital skills but instils resilience and teamwork in his charges. Bolek’s work extends beyond the beach—patrolling to ensure safety, supporting inclusive programs for children with disabilities, and championing his club’s culture through leadership and service. His ability reflects a commitment to building strong, inclusive communities.
Nicole has helped others through her leadership at the ASMS and beyond. From Changemakers to leading international science collaborations, she has made strides in academic and social spheres. Nicole’s volunteer efforts supporting new immigrant children with language barriers and her contributions to during CIC week created opportunities for others. Her resilience, having overcome similar challenges as a young migrant, demonstrates the profound power of giving back.
Congratulations to both of you. Your work embodies the spirit of service, and we are certain you will continue to inspire and create lasting positive change.
